Things to Remember When Traveling to Japan

All countries have their own unique norms and practices. Being a foreigner, it is essential that you learn a bit about the country you are visiting beforehand. If you are travelingto Japan, here are few things to remember.

No Tipping Policy
This may sound odd but truth is that while tipping is customary in most countries of the world, it is not normal practice in Japan. So don’t bother tipping at restaurants or hotels.

Preferred Transport
Japan has a widespread and efficient subway network. Therefore, it is highly recommended for transportation within the city.

Avoid Clip Joints
It is better to avoid Clip joints as this is the only place in Japan where tips are expected.

No need to Bow
You don’t have to copy everything the locals do. There is no obligation on you to bow before every person you meet.

Explore
Once you are in a new city, explore it fully. We suggest that you discover the southern side of Japan as it is quite popular among travelers.

Museums are a must visit
Japan is home to quite a few museums. These display exquisite art, calligraphy and antique artifacts.

Vending machines are a blessing
Vending machines in Japan offer soups, cold beverages and beer. Use them to your advantage.

Where to stay
Local Inns are as expensive as five star hotels. Make sure you are aware of this before choosing a place to stay.

Don’t order too much
Japanese dishes are served in big portions. Keep this in mind when placing the order.

Relax at the parks
The parks in Japan are perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature.
