How To Survive In A Economy Flight Effortlessly

Sitting on a plane for 20 long hours in not my idea of fun and excitement, but long haul flights is one of the essential evils of traveling. I had to travel to India last week from US so I had to endure a 16 hour flight here are a few things which I practiced to make my flight bearable.
I’m no pop-singer so I fly in economy flights or coach flights, the section where you travel with other two hundred strangers breathing each other’s recycled air. If you are fond of traveling in first class or business class then this list is not for you. So here are a few tips which you should follow before you board your plane.

Choose Your Seat Sensibly

Do you like to sit near the window or the aisle? Well if you are not the kind of person who would want to be disturbed again and again by the other passengers to give way whenever they want to go out, then you should book foe a window seat. Window seats are better for three reasons: first you don’t get disturbed again and again, second you get to see the view and third you can rest your head against the window.

Dress In Layers

For me all the planes are cold, so the best way to deal with the cold air conditioners of the airlines is by dressing in layers. My favorite airline dressing for a long-haul flight is a pair of stretchy pants, long cotton shirt with a full sleeved cardigan. If for some reason you don’t like to layer yourself up then the best way to get dressed is by taking a cashmere wrap with you on the flight so in case you feel cold you can yourself with it.

Pack Smartly

On-board you are allowed to carry a laptop bag, one standard size hand carry and one person bag. Use this on board bag facility wisely. In my laptop bag I place all my electronic gadgets their chargers and important document. In the small purse that I carry I pack my traveling accessories like toiletries, gums, face wipes and some snacks.

Imagine Your Neighboring Passengers

On my last flight to Kuala Lampur I was seated near a couple who were flying with one infant and two toddlers. Those kids went on and on crying on the flight the poor parents tried everything to stop them and keep them calmed but nothing worked, one kid would start crying and automatically the other two started crying too. So my biggest mistake on that flight was not to bring a pair of ear plugs as I thought the airline will provide them in their amenity kit, but to my horror they didn’t. So when you are flying on a long haul flight is prepared with things like earplugs and eye mask as you might need them.

Keep Yourself Hydrated

Keep yourself hydrated on the planes as they are pretty dried and you wouldn’t want to be dehydrated when you land at your destination. Avoid alcohol and other sugary beverages at all cost, in fact ask the flight attendant to serve you with water.

Stretch And Move

Sitting for a longer period of time can cause some serious moving problems when you land. Your body needs the blood to flow freely so every no then stretch your body or move around the plane. Do some walk in the aisle, calf raises, and airplaneyoga. Do something except for staying still.
