Situated in the Maghreb region of North Africa, the Kingdom of Morocco is the most unique country in the entire African continent. When my husband suggested Morocco as our honeymoon destination, I had my reservations. However, a quick internet search on the country generated satisfactory results. So I agreed. Of course I still wanted to go to a more glamorous place like Cape Town or Europe, so I didn’t give up until our business class tickets were booked. My husband had visited the country before and every time I tried to change the destination, he told me that I didn’t know better. Well, I whole heatedly agree with him now. Indeed, I didn’t know better. It was love at first sight with Morocco. My suggestion for all you honeymooners looking for an economical yet fun and beautiful destination: book your business class tickets to Morocco right away. To tour Morocco, make sure you book a rental car and local driver. It is a country worth exploring.
At the gate of Atlas Mountains are the beautiful Minara
Gardens. Built back in the 12th century, the gardens have a very
peaceful and serene environment.
Majorelle Garden
This 12 acre botanical garden was designed by a French
artist. So yes, it is amazing and a must visit.
Casablanca
Located to the west of Morocco on the Atlantic Ocean is the
loveliest city of the country. For some reason, Casablanca is very interesting.
I am not sure if it is due to the friendly people or the cultured surroundings.
The Hassan II Mosque, Casablanca cathedral and Marif district are some of the
best areas of the city. But truly speaking, eating out in this city is most
fun. Don Camillo, Bombay Palace, L’Entrecote café de Paris and Rick’s café are
the places offering the best ambiance and food.
Atlas Mountain
The mountain range across the country is great for trekking
all year round. For thrill, adventure and natural beauty, visit the Ourika
Valley.
The mesmerizing
‘Sahara Desert’
Exploring the magical Sahara desert is one of the most exciting
experiences of life. It is as if you are at the set of the ‘The Mummy’ movie.
The camel ride is quite fun too.
Surfing
Visit the popular Taghazoute Town to surf in the cool waters
of Morocco.
